City Schoolyard Garden is a program that promotes academic achievement, health, environmental stewardship, and community-building through organic garden-based learning. Many supporters of the garden came to meet Waters during her mid-April visit: members of the garden board, two garden employees, the superintendent of the Charlottesville City Schools, the chair and vice chair of the school board, generous donors, several chefs, and of course, student gardeners.
